Hello Birney families and friends,
Just a couple of things to tell you that I forgot yesterday before returning obsessively to my election newsfeed.
- Picture Day is postponed until after the holidays, but Lifetouch hasn’t cancelled the email notices – please ignore them.
- Veteran’s Day Holiday – no school – Wednesday, November 11
- Yearbooks from last year are here! Please email Pat Spaulding at [email protected] to arrange for a time to pick your yearbook up.
- We get a few more LCFF forms filled out every day. To make it easier – we now have paper forms in the office you can fill out in person. If you would prefer to do that, stop by the office, knock to request a form for your child you can fill out and sign right then and there. My goal is to get every classroom over 50% before turning off the portal for grades to be loaded. Ultimately, the more forms we have, the likelier we get almost $100,000 in funding next year! What if I don’t have access to the Parent Portal? You need a special password to access the parent portal which you get from me by simply replying to this email so I can verify that you are who you say you are! A job aid is available for parents to assist with entering information for the LCFF Form. The LCFF Form is available in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese in the Parent Portal.
- Ms. LeeAnn is so pleased with the library book distribution on Wednesdays she is adding 3rd grade on November 18! Wednesday! Library checkout for 4th and 5th graders – go online and reserve a book to pick up on Wednesday! You can reserve all the way up to 11 a.m. Wednesday morning! Here’s how you do that!
- GRADE LEVEL DISTRIBUTION DAYS coming up for:
- 5th grade – Friday, 11/6 1:00-2:00
- 3rd grade – Thursday, 11/12 1:00-2:00
- Kindergarten – Friday, 11/13 1:00-2:00
- If your device is misbehaving, make a point to bring it to school, turn it on, off and on again to update it. That may fix things.
- Remember if you can’t make it to pick up your new supplies, they are stored in the office, so pick them up as soon as you can.
- FAMILY FRIDAY: Friday November 13, 2:30-3:30. It will be an International Mother Tongue dance and language celebration.
